Association "Nova generacija"

About us

“Nova generacija” is a non-political, non-governmental and non-profit association of social workers and other professionals in the field of social activities, which has been established in 2004 as a project of Union of Social Work Students in University of Banja Luka. The main idea was that graduates continue their charitable Activities in the association, which is a natural extension of their volunteer activities during the period of study. At that time, in the City of Banja Luka there was none active professional association of social workers. Because of that, a group of young social workers, supported by several senior colleagues and teachers, founded an NGO which later became an association which is primarily concerned with protecting and promotion of children’s rights. In May 2011 “Nova generacija” signed an agreement with the Faculty of Political Sciences, University of Banja Luka, for implementation of practical work for social work students in the Day-care center for Street Children and in the Day-care center for Child Victims and Witnesses of Domestic Violence.

Our vision

Our vision is that every child has the right to a happy childhood, family and home, which his parents and society should give to him. Each person has the right to a life worthy of a human being!

Our mission

Association "Nova generacija" through its activities aims at promoting and protecting human rights, especially the rights of the child, and the implementation of programs for the protection of vulnerable groups, children and young people. Our activities are focused on building the society that will be responsible for all its members, especially children, through providing information, education and active involvement of all segments of society in the process of change.

Logo

The logo of “Nova generacija” symbolizes circle (The circle or ‘’kolo’’ is our traditional national dance). Circle has its own internal logic, laws and principles. One man cannot play The circle alone. Besides that, if you want to dance, it is not enough to know steps or have a sense of rhythm and music. To truly play The circle, you need a big desire above all, and then the ability to get those other (left and right of you) to feel and experience the dance as one body. No one can play in The circle alone if he is focused on himself and his own rhythm and if does not see other dancers, not only as themselves, but as part of him also. The other man, who is a condition of our participation in The circle, becomes our only landmark and criterion. It is very interesting that all defects are amortized in The circle, including people who are better players, so they complement and conceal the weaknesses of those who play poorly. The circle is not chaotic, but always in order. It is always known who the leader in The circle is, even when it seems that everything is in chaos.
